Follow up after an interview
Even though the interview is over, there are still steps you can take to leave a lasting positive impression. Here are a few follow-up tips to ensure you stay on top of your game:
- Send a Thank You Email: Send a personalized email to each interviewer shortly after the interview. If you don’t recall all the names, contact reception for help.
- Consider Sending a Thank You Card: Adding a personal touch by mailing a thank you card can help leave a lasting impression.
- Follow Up: If you haven’t heard back in a reasonable time, politely ask about the hiring timeline and reaffirm your interest.
- Be Gracious If Rejected: Thank the interviewer for the opportunity and express ongoing interest in the company.
- Ask for Feedback: If not selected, request feedback. While optional, many interviewers are willing to provide helpful tips for future interviews.
