Visit our Career Peer Educators in the Career Lounge; where they will listen, help to identify your career-related concerns, work with you to update documents and take next steps, and refer to appropriate resources. How has your York experience contributed to your career goals? I believe one of the best decisions I made in my first year at YorkU was to step out of my comfort zone and get involved with student activities and initiatives on campus. I had recently moved to Canada when I started my first year as an undeclared major. Through volunteering for student clubs on campus, I was able to explore my passions and interests; these experiences ultimately guided my decision of choosing to major in Global Health. My subsequent involvement with Islamic Relief at York as their Vice President and organizing initiatives such as Refugee Awareness Week enabled me to connect with like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds. The YorkU community has consistently provided a supportive environment that continues to successfully facilitate my career journey. What is your favorite thing about being a York student? The best thing about being a York Student is that the diverse and collaborative nature of the YorkU community gives us all countless opportunities to make meaningful connections with our fellow peers.
