Founded in 1843 as a school of medicine, the University of Toronto's Temerty Faculty of Medicine is an integral component of one of North America's largest health science complexes. The Faculty is part of a network of nine fully affiliated and nineteen community affiliated teaching hospitals and health-care sites, as well as a myriad of community-based health units. With a catchment population of close to five million people, this network provides students with access to a broad spectrum of educational experience and an extraordinary environment for clinical care, research, and education.
